Pfreya's Story: Virtual Graphic & Motion Design Internship

This is Pfreya!

Pfreya graduated from the University of Wollongong in Australia with a double degree in Bachelor of Creative Arts and Bachelor of Science. After obtaining her degree, she decided to join the ArtBound Initiative program to do a virtual internship with Studio Swish, a Melbourne-based creative agency.

Could you describe what your day-to-day looks like as a virtual intern for Studio Swish?

I completed a 3-month internship with Swish. Typically, my mornings began with a quick briefing from the director, which consisted of either feedback on my previous work or a new task for the day. My responsibilities included creating collateral graphic or motion design assets, researching and brainstorming ideas, and creating deliverables for clients.

What was your favorite part about your design internship?

Throughout my internship, the highlights for me were the moments when the graphic and motion designs I created received approval and seeing them being published online!

Did your internship meet your expectations and how will it impact your career goals?

Yes, it has met most of my expectations of doing an internship! I think it will further my long-term career from the growth and development I had with communication and more knowledge and skills of the design software I will continue to use.

ArtBound initiative gave me a great opportunity to experience what it's like to work in the industry I want to pursue and has only continued to foster my passion and interest in design.
