New York Creative Intenship

The ArtBound Initiative Program for Creative Diversity is available to seniors or recent graduates from backgrounds traditionally excluded from the creative industries.

This program will offer you:

1. A Full Scholarship for the ArtBound Initiative program which includes personalized coaching, events, networking opportunities and access to our international network of alumni

2. A paid internship opportunity with one of our company partners.

ELIGIBILITY

REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be from a background traditionally excluded from the creative industries (race/ethnicity, socioeconomic status, disability, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, or religion). 

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or a permanent resident of the United States.

  • Must be either a rising senior, graduate student or a recent graduate. 

  • Must be available to intern for at least 3-month, part-time or full-time (based on the academic term). Timing can be flexible based on the applicants.

HOW DOES IT

STEP 1: REVIEW WHAT OUR PROGRAM INCLUDES
 

  • A paid internship placement with one of our company partners

  • Company interview guidelines 

  • Workplace and internship orientation

  • Pre-internship training: business etiquette and main skills sought after by employers

1 INTERNSHIP PLACEMENT

  • Career development workshops 

  • Résumé/CV coaching and review session 

  • Portfolio review and/or Industry professional coaching session 

  • Soft skill training: networking, online brand and elevator pitch

2 PERSONALIZED COACHING

  • ABI Networking App for our international network of participants and alumni

  • Access to career resources, networking events and monthly job lists

  • Webinars with industry professionals

  • ABI curated events including gallery tours, shows and gathering

  • ABI Guide on the local creative scene

3 THE NETWORK 

STEP 2: APPLY

Start your online applicationMaterials required to apply:  

  • Resume 

  • Portfolio (if applicable) 

  • 2 recommendation letters 

  • Proof of citizenship or permanent resident status (Any of the following: U.S. Passport, Green Card, Consular Report of Birth Abroad, Naturalization Certificate, Certificate of Citizenship or Certified birth certificate issued by the city, county or state, with registrar’s seal and signature)

  • Essay question: What work of art (painting, sculpture, poem, musical composition, film, performance) has most influenced your life and the way that you view the world? Why?

  • Supporting materials (optional): Student Aid Report (SAR), Financial Aid Award Letter, Copy of your transcripts, Copy of previous scholarships and awards, etc.

STEP 3: WE SELECT FINALISTS

Our committee will conduct interviews and review all applications to select finalists for each Academic term.

 

STEP 4: INTERVIEWS WITH COMPANY PARTNERS

 

Finalists' profiles will be reviewed by our company partners. Our company partners will invite selected candidates for interviews. 

 

STEP 5: GET AN OFFER & JOIN OUR PROGRAM

If you get an offer letter from one of our company partners, you will be officially invited to join our Creative Diversity Program and will become your journey with us and with your internship!

INTERN @ CODE & THEORY 
Code & Theory is one of the world's top digital agencies and works with leading brands like adidas, Facebook and Google.

1. Digital Design 
You must have experience with Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects, and Expertise in Sketch.

 2.Creative Strategy (Product or Brand) 
You will be the backbone that drives innovation and new creative approaches, and apply fresh thinking and new ideas to the age-old and unique challenges we are tasked to solve every day.
