What was your routine like during your Virtual Gallery Internship?

My daily routine consists of first checking my email for any responses or new tasks from Maria, which I use as my basis for work the rest of the day. Mostly this has been updating her website with new artwork, translations, contact forms, etc. I've also had to do a lot of organizing of her portfolios, art, and audience contacts. As we have been dealing with time zone changes, I try to do as much as I can and send an email to her with what was done so I can await feedback and repeat the process the next day.

I feel as though this internship has taught me to be very self-sufficient in learning new technology, which is beneficial in a world where technology is ever-changing. Maria, as an artist, has taught me much about how a business identity is constructed from a stylistic perspective. This internship has opened my eyes to how artists tackle commercialization in order to put their own message out in the world, especially with so much creative competition.

Tell us about the work environment!

The atmosphere is very warm and welcoming, and Maria understands that this is a learning process not only for me but for her as well. There is not an expectation to have all the answers, but there is one to have the drive to resolve issues and conduct research that leads to necessary answers.

What did ArtBound Initiative help you with the most?

ArtBound was very beneficial in helping me realize my strengths and weaknesses, and what aspects of myself I should play to in a work environment. Also, it has really helped me learn proper communication with supervisors and boss-entities.

ArtBound Initiative helped me learn many things from both the artistic side and business side of the industry.
