ABI Profile: Eunis

Eunis

graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in International Business and Minor in Korean from The Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2020. Eunis then landed an internship at the Berlin-based gallery, SomoS!

I had my internship with SomoS, a non-commercial art gallery in Berlin, holding different exhibitions, events, and residency programs for emerging and mid-career artists from all parts of the world.

As the curatorial team, we are responsible for almost everything related to the exhibition, from head to toe, like communicating with artists, setting up exhibitions, and advertising. My main duties were to design various printed materials like posters and flyers, as well as to edit a podcast series that features our artists in residency.

Exhibitions at SomoS

The internship allowed me to experience what it's like working as a curator and designer. It was very interesting to observe how the art world operates from different angles.

Now, I am able to acquire and master my skillset, which makes me more flexible in working in different situations. But the connections formed with artists and interns are what I valued the most throughout the program, exchanging views across topics and understanding their art practices, it is fun to find out how different but similar we could be, and also a great chance to review and reshape my career path.

Thanks to ABI, I was able step into the art world. They opened the door of possibilities.
