Corey's Story: Design Internship in Melbourne
This is Corey!
Corey is a student at Curtin University majoring in Design. Through the ArtBound Initiative program, Corey landed a design internship at the Melbourne-based agencies, Milkman & Pitch Agency, a creative agency.
Tell us more about your Design Internship with Milkman & Pitch Agency!
I was very lucky to be interning with two agencies, Milkman and Pitch Agency.
Milkman is a full-service independent creative agency located in South Yarra, Melbourne. My main task as a design intern was to assist the creative team by creating branding concepts, publication layout design, social media posts, and preparing content pitches.
I was also interning remotely with Pitch Agency right across the road. They specialize in digital marketing and work closely with Milkman. My main task as a design intern was to help create digital campaign design and social media posts on Figma.

What kind of positive impact has the internship given you?
My internship experiences serve as an important stepping stone to further my design career. They have introduced me to a range of creative processes and tools to assist with my design process, as well as created invaluable connections to the creative industry in Melbourne.
Milkman have expressed that they'll continue to offer support to me past my internship, and I currently freelance for them remotely from my home city while I finish my studies.

What did ABI help you with the most?
They have taught me the importance of meaningful connections. To connect more with the creative community, to learn and be curious. The coaching sessions offered invaluable and tailored advice to develop my networking ability and creative portfolio.
ABI has helped me gain more confidence as a graphic designer, and has inspired me to work towards my dream career.
