Akaash's Story: Audio Engineer Internship in Sydney
This is Akaash!
He is a graduate from the Australian College of the Arts (CollArts) with a Bachelors Degree in Music Production. After graduating, Akaash landed an Audio Engineer Internship at King Sound Studios, an audio studio, through the ArtBound Initiative program.
Can you describe what your Audio Engineer Internship at King Sound Studios was like?
I interned at King Sound Studios, a Sydney-based audio studio with a primary focus on VoiceOver work. As an assistant audio engineer intern, my main responsibilities involve setting up the studio for VoiceOver sessions and podcasts, and occasionally assisting musicians. Additionally, I edit as well as clean up audio from VoiceOver sessions, as well as source scripts and produce reels for voiceover students.

How do you think this experience will impact your career?
This internship will provide me with a valuable foot in the door for future opportunities in other studios, as experience in studio environments holds significant importance.
I have gained extensive knowledge regarding the unique workflow in VoiceOver work, which differs from my previous experience with musicians. Throughout the internship, I had the opportunity to utilize an industry-standard program, honing my skills by learning new workflows and seamlessly integrating them with my own.
