Georgie's Story: Script Analysis Internship in New York
This is Georgie!
As a Music student at the University of Leeds, she secured an internship at Jean Doumanian Productions in New York City through the ABI program. In addition to gaining valuable internship experience, Georgie also participated in numerous coaching sessions with industry professionals.
What was your script analysis internship like? What were some of your tasks?
My internship began in December 2021 in New York. I was placed with Jean Doumanian Productions, an award-winning theatre, film, and TV production company. I was thrilled to be working during the opening of HANGMEN, which was nominated for 5 Tonys as well as the revival of “Funny Girl”.
My daily tasks were to analyze the scripts that were sent in. I was also involved in other office activities, such as casting for current creative projects and finding agents and writers to recruit.

How has your internship at JDP impacted your career?
This internship placement was a huge stepping stone for me. The creative world can be challenging to get a foot in the door. Everything is about network - in which JDP helped me believe in my own talent and gave me the skills required to network in this creative professional world!
