William's Story: Marketing & Design Internship in Sydney

This is William!

William is a Graphic Designer and Illustrator from Butler, Western Australia. A recent graduate of Curtin University with a Bachelor of Design, Will completed a Design & Marketing Internship at INCK Merchandise, which paved the way for his current role as their part-time Creative Assistant!

Could you describe what your day-to-day looks like as an intern for INCK Merchandise?

Over the course of three months, I supported in both the design and marketing departments at Inck. My primary responsibilities included creating visuals for the company blogs, developing social media content, and contributing to the design and development of their new website.

Additionally, I assisted with product photography and helped craft emails and newsletters for their clients. I had the opportunity to work closely with the marketing coordinator and artwork designer, who provided valuable feedback on my work and helped me refine my skills.

Did your internship meet your expectations and how will it impact your career goals?

I believe this internship has provided a crucial start for my career as a designer in the creative and marketing industries. It has significantly expanded my knowledge of marketing practices and allowed me to develop skills in website design, motion graphics, and video editing. The support and encouragement from the Inck team were important in my growth, offering me numerous opportunities to enhance my abilities and connect with other professionals in the field.

ABI provided me with a clear understanding of how to set and achieve my goals as a designer. Thanks to their support, recommendations, and networking efforts, I secured an internship with Inck Merchandise, which eventually led me to be employed in the company!
