Ruikun's Story: Creative Marketing & Events Internship in Chicago
Meet Ruikun!
Ruikun is a current student at Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU), pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Public Relations. In Summer 2026, she joined ArtBound Initiative and landed an internship with Beeson Ventures, a creative company dedicated to building and supporting world-class creative organizations through collaboration, strategy, and execution.

How would you describe your day-to-day at Beeson Ventures?
There's a check-in meeting every morning to clarify my tasks for the day. My daily work usually revolves around newsletter writing, social media content creation, and market research. During events, I also helped with venue setup and BTS content filming. There's another check-in meeting an hour before the end of the workday to report on the day's work, have my supervisor evaluate it, and provide feedback.
Overall, the team members created a friendly and supportive work environment for me. They encouraged me to be highly involved in various tasks and were very proactive in helping me solve problems.

What aspect of your internship was most rewarding?
I gained training experience that perfectly aligned with my career goals. My supervisor, Grover, took into an account each intern's expertise and areas for improvement when assigning tasks, and I felt my expectations for professional growth were well met.
This internship met my expectations and even exceeded them in some aspects. I not only gained more practical experience and participated in Beeson Ventures' advanced marketing initiatives, but I also learned about many new online tools that allow me to work more efficiently and more smartly.
In what way did ArtBound Initiative helped you the most?
First of all, the support from the ABI team during the application process provided me with a lot of useful guidance, which will also be applicable to my job search in the future. The monthly check-in emails during my internship allowed me to review my work each month, gain a clearer understanding of my work and growth, and better communicate with my supervisor in the following month.
Overall, I think everything went very well. The support from the ABI team for exceeded my expectations and was much more comprehensive than I anticipated.
