Richelle's Story: Fashion & Editorial Internship in New York

This is Richelle!

Richelle studied at the University of Queensland and joined the ArtBound Initiative program to gain hands-on industry experience. She completed her Fashion & Editorial internship with Photobook Magazine, an independent arts and culture publication based in New York. Read more below!

Could you describe what your day-to-day looks like as an intern for Photobook Magazine?

I crafted articles for Photobook Magazine’s website - reviewing art exhibits, concerts, film screenings, fashion events/must-haves, memoirs, and beauty products! I also supported the stylist on set of various photoshoots for Photobook Magazine and L’Officiel AU, connecting with high-profile actors, artists, and other talent.

What was your favorite part about your internship?

My favourite part of my internship was helping at a music video shoot!

Has your internship met your expectations? In which way will it help further your professional goals/long-term career?

My internship was incredibly inspiring. It taught me that the career I want is possible, as modeled by the many passionate women I met throughout the experience who are thriving in their career. The internship gave me more direction.

How would you describe the way ArtBound Initiative helped you the most?

ArtBound helped me by connecting me with a really inspiring internship, and provided peace of mind knowing I can reach out if needed.
