Could you describe what your day-to-day looks like at Hinkler?
At my internship, my daily routine is a mix of design production and collaboration. I usually start by reviewing my task list for the day and checking in with my supervisor for priorities. Most of my work involves creating layouts, packaging elements, and visual assets for children’s activity books and product lines. I spend a lot of time refining designs, preparing files for print, and making sure everything follows brand guidelines.
Throughout the day, I also attend team discussions, get feedback on ongoing projects, and make revisions based on that. My routine is very iterative: design, review, refine, and it’s taught me how to work efficiently and professionally within a real studio workflow.
The environment at my internship is very collaborative and supportive. The team is approachable, open to questions, and always willing to guide me through the design and production process. It’s structured but relaxed enough that you feel comfortable experimenting and learning. Overall, it’s a space where you’re encouraged to grow, take initiative, and contribute creatively
Has this internship met your expectation?
Yes, my internship has definitely met my expectations. I wanted real industry exposure, and that’s exactly what I got working on actual products, understanding studio workflows, and learning how to handle feedback in a professional setting.
It’s helped me build confidence in my design decisions and sharpen my technical skills. This experience will directly support my long-term goals by preparing me for full-time roles in branding, communication design, and creative studios. It’s given me the clarity and practical skills I need to grow in the industry.

How would you describe the way ArtBound Initiative helped you the most?
ArtBound Initiative helped me the most by giving me real world clarity. The program connected me with industry professionals, guided me through the internship process, and helped me understand what studios expect from young designers. That structure and support made the transition from student work to professional work feel achievable and confident.
