Could you describe what your day-to-day looks like as an intern for Waf Berlin?
My daily routine involved reviewing emails and scheduling potential meetings in the morning, followed by assessing my assignments for the day. Throughout my tenure at Waf.Berlin, I managed various projects, including editorial design, logo creation, and social media design. This experience taught me to handle multiple projects simultaneously. Each day presented a new challenge as I tackled various projects assigned for the week.
From my first day, I found the team welcoming and enjoyable to work with. They consistently took the time to assist me with any questions regarding assignments. The design team significantly enhanced my efficiency and proficiency with Adobe programs and even helped me learn some German.
What was your favorite part about your internship?
The internship's most enjoyable and valuable aspect was the exposure to various projects and the collaborative team environment. During the pandemic, my college experience provided limited opportunities for teamwork in graphic design. Therefore, I was particularly grateful for the chance to work alongside and learn from experienced graphic designers throughout each project's lifecycle.
Did your internship meet your expectations and how will it impact your career goals?
My time as an intern in Berlin exceeded my expectations, and I better understood what I wanted to work toward as a graphic designer. After completing my internship with the company, they inspired me to strive to work for a design studio like Waf.Berlin. I want to continue down my path to becoming a brand designer at a studio and a freelance graphic designer!
How did ArtBound Initiative help you the most?
Artbound Initiative provided comprehensive support in preparing me for my internship, particularly for the experience of going abroad. Their guidance alleviated my apprehensions about interning overseas, which was a significant milestone in my career and involved relocating far from home. I am deeply grateful for enrolling with Artbound Initiative, as it enabled me to pursue my dream of an international internship.
