Kristy's Story: Design Internship in New York
This is Kristy!
Kristy graduated from Southern Adventist University in 2021 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design. Through the ArtBound Initiative program, she landed an internship at Reflexgroup in New York and later secured a position as a Designer there.
What was your Design Internship like?
My internship was with Reflexgroup, a boutique creative agency based in Manhattan, working with renowned luxury brands. As a design intern, my tasks were to create a brand guideline for clients as well as other visual communications.
How did this experience affect your career?
I've always dreamed of working in a place full of creatives and design. During the 3 months internship at Reflexgroup, I learned to create freely in the industry and work proactively.
Being surrounded by a creative environment has helped me grow professionally and personally. I gained more confidence in my design and was able to collaborate with well-known brands, working from behind the scenes and releasing the work I assisted on a digital platform was a fulfilling experience.
ABI was the bridge to my dream career. It helped me get out of my comfort zone and improve my professional and creative skills. I can already see how much I've grown in a span of 3 months and I couldn't be any more grateful for this opportunity and the support I was given throughout my internship.
