HOW TO DEMYSTIFY YOUR JOB SEARCH

Last time, we invited two recruiters for a transparent and intimate conversation on demystifying your job and internship search. We have summarized the webinar into 3 digestible points below!

1. LOOKING THROUGH THE EYES OF A RECRUITER

  • Tailor your LinkedIn profile with the relevant keywords and experiences your company or job you're applying is looking for.

  • For creatives, make sure your portfolio stands out. You can use one of these free resources to build your portfolio: Behance, Dribbble, and Carbonmade.

  • Your portfolio landing page has to be eye-catching. It is the make or break for recruiters!

2. BE A CULTURAL ADD, NOT A CULTURAL FIT

  • Another thing that is the most important is your soft skill. An outstanding portfolio but no professional attitude, it means nothing.

  • Be yourself! Be honest when asked about your experiences. Don't make up those strengths and weaknesses.

3. CREATE BOUNDARIES & BE INTENTIONAL

  • Set boundaries! Don't push yourself too hard when applying for jobs. Take breaks and time yourself.

  • It is important to be in the hustle culture, but always avoid burnout.

  • Quality over quantity. Instead of applying to 100 easy-apply jobs, try focusing on 10 jobs that you really like.
