Didi's Story: Editorial Internship in New York
Meet Didi!
Didi is a Music and Journalism graduate from New York University. In Spring of 2025, she joined ArtBound Initiative and landed an editorial internship with Relix, a print and online publication that focuses on the live music scene. Relix is a publishing company under Dayglo Presents, known for the highly acclaimed Lockn Festival and Brooklyn Bowl. During her internship, Dudu got the chance to have her articles published at Relix's official website.

How would you describe your day-to-day at Relix?
My day would start at 10:30 AM when I checked in and emailed my supervisors to let them know I was ready for the day. From there, I would be given different tasks, including writing articles, editing articles, and organizing festival dates for upcoming magazine releases and online articles.
I would also have meetings with my supervisors to go over my articles, make edits, and learn more about writing specifically for Relix. It was a great way to get feedback and better understand the editorial process.
At 6:00 PM, I would send an email to my supervisors checking out for the day. On Wednesdays, I would also attend intern meetings, where I got to meet other interns and hear about what they were working on. It was a nice way to connect with the other interns and see what everyone was up to.
The environment was so supportive and friendly. I felt supported throughout the internship, and my supervisors were always ready and willing to help whenever I got stuck. They were easy to get in contact with, but also gave me the freedom to take initiative, try things for myself, and take on new tasks independently.
I loved getting to write about different bands and have some of my work published!
Has your internship met your expectations?
My internship met my expectations 100%! It helped me understand which area of music journalism I would want to work in. Through the experience, I realized that I prefer reporting on music and telling the story behind it rather than giving my personal opinion on it.
In what way did ArtBound Initiative helped you the most?
ABI was the best! ABI helped me to understand that I am capable of being the professional I know I can be in any position. They truly worked with me even when things didn't go according to plans on my end. I will never forget that!
