Could you describe what your day-to-day looks like?

At Galerie SLP, I supported the gallery’s daily operations and coordinated exhibition logistics. My core tasks included managing artist communications, scheduling meetings and interviews, maintaining the gallery’s email and calendar systems, and updating administrative tools like Trello and Google Drive.

I helped prepare monthly exhibitions by drafting press releases, organising artist materials (contracts, statements, and images), and coordinating with collaborators such as Lakrids and Teufel for event partnerships.

I was also responsible for writing blog pieces for the website, managing the gallery's LinkedIn, and tracking artist contracts and inventory.

Beyond daily admin work, I contributed to event creation, organisation, and management for exhibitions, and events like our first Comedy Night.

What was the most memorable part of your internship?

I think the variety of and type of work I was able to do. I planned the first ever comedy night, came up with exhibition names and the description (including the artist one), liaised with the artists and helped draft up their contracts, and was able to participate in selecting and hanging the artworks.

I was surprised to be trusted with such important tasks, but I always had Sara's support, and along the way, I think I did pretty well.

How would you describe the environment at your internship?

Galerie SLP was super fun to work at! My other coworkers, who were also interns, got along with me really well, and we had a great vibe together.

I'd definitely say Galerie SLP is on the slightly fancy side, requiring us to always be in semi-formal clothing. But the work was fulfilling and engaging, and I was always learning something new.

Sara was super supportive as well, and friendly!

I was super appreciative of the regular check ins via email, as well as having Jana as a coordinator! The community is wonderful and welcoming, and I felt really safe and secure (even as an anxious girlie).
