JACKSON
graduated from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago where he was majoring in Fine Arts. Jackson did an internship at SOMOS in Berlin in the Summer of 2021.
"I interned as a curatorial intern at SomoS Art House Berlin. SomoS is an independent artist-run non-commercial artist residency and exhibition space, hosting resident artists and curators from around the world, hosting events, workshops, and exhibitions of residents' work."
"My responsibilities were varied, and included writing artist pages, drafting exhibition texts, managing social media, managing communications, drafting and releasing press releases, helping set and take down exhibitions, holding curatorial meetings with the resident artists, and running any needed errands."

"The biggest impact this internship will have on my career is the connections to different artists, curators, and art spaces I was able to make while in Berlin. Being that I want to relocate to Berlin and work in this field, these connections I believe will prove to be very valuable. For example, I will be applying to different artist residencies in Berlin I got connected to through this internship."
"The most helpful part of Artbound Initiative really was in the visa/housing assistance. While the coaching was incredibly helpful, the visa service and housing recommendation made what would have been a more difficult and complicated process for me to do on my own and took care of it which was really nice."
