ABI Profile: Dorothy

DOROTHY

is a student from Fashion Institute of Technology where she is majoring in Advertising and Digital Design. She did an internship in the Summer of 2021 in New York at The Studio.

"I was interning for the STUDIO NYC. They are a studio that’s mainly focused on animation and visual communication. Being a Communication Design major (Associates) who is now pursuing an Advertising & Digital design major (Bachelors), my supervisor asked me if branding sounded interesting instead."

"I love branding, so I was mainly in charge of those tasks. My supervisor gave me some clients that needed help with their social media (Instagram), packaging design, designing GIFs and writing some captions for them. It was everything that I had been taught in school and I was able to applying those in my internship!"

"This internship will impact my career because my supervisor, Mary Nittolo, was probably the nicest boss in the world and she was so extremely kind and had always applauded me on my work and gave me a lot of encouragement as well as confidence!"

"The coaching sessions that ArtBound Initiative had were very helpful and I was so glad they had it because oftentimes that you’d think you’d know what to do in the work field, but you actually don’t. The coaching sessions will give you things to look out for, real-life advice and improve your experience when working in the real world!"
