ABI Profile: Mercedes

MERCEDES

graduated from Miami University of Art & Design with an Associate of Arts Degree in Fashion Merchandising in 2018. Later, she continued her studies at Parsons School of Design in Bachelor's of Strategic Design & Management.

Mercedes then got an internship at Red Antler, New York as a Copywriter Intern.

I got an internship at Red Antler, a creative agency in Dumbo NY. My position was a Copywriter Intern and I was able to work on tasks related to brand direction which included but was not limited to name storming as well as brand campaigns where we fleshed out creative concepts and ideas for brands.

Expanding on this, I was teamed up with the copywriting team mainly in charge of advertising and got to work alongside content creators, creative directors, as well as senior level design strategists and copywriters. In my down time I was given the task of researching copy trends prevalent in the industry.

This experience was invaluable because of the amazingly talented people that I was given the opportunity to work alongside. I also believe that the work culture really gave me a sense of optimism about the marketing industry because everyone was so down to earth, friendly, kind, and most of all approachable.

The thing that really sets ABI apart is their devotion to your overall wellbeing as a whole, which I didn't really expect. That reminded me that we need to dedicate as much time to building community as we do to our growth.
