Henry's Story: Audio Engineer Internship in New York
This is Henry!
Henry is a current student at the Australian Institute of Music Sydney for a Bachelor's in Music Production and Composition. During his studies, he joined the ArtBound Initiative program and landed an Audio Engineer Internship with Baboon Animation, a production studio that produces many works for worldwide animation studios founded by DreamWorks alumni.
This is Henry! Tell us more about your Audio Engineer Internship with Baboon Animation!
I was placed at Baboon Animation, a writing and recording studio for animation which works largely in voice and scriptwriting for various kids shows such as Phineas and Ferb, Shrek, Madagascar, and many more.
During my Audio Engineer Internship, I learned a lot of insightful skills in the animation industry from an audio post-production perspective. My main tasks were editing and repairing audio, syncing voice to animation, and working on animation reactions.

How do you think this internship impacted you in your career?
On occasion, I was lucky enough to take part in recording voice talents in the studio next to the director as well as work on some music for the shows they were working on.
I think this internship will be a great marker of experience and an impressive addition to my resume for music production. Going forward, I am sure there will be more opportunities that open up due to the experience gained during my internship.

ABI helped organize my travels from Australia all the way to New York City. I'm grateful I got to meet other interns in the city so we got to bond and hang out together. I am very grateful for this amazing opportunity!
